MINI, an independent brand of the BMW Group, has announced a new launch in the United States. In dealerships now, the latest MINI convertible is stylish and offers the high level of performance we expect from the brand. The unique blue-and-black-themed rag top known as the Cooper S is being relaunched for the 2021 model year. This latest MINI convertible offers custom scissors-spoke 2-tone wheels, touchscreen navigation, a head-up display, and a Harman/Kardon stereo system among its standard features.
About the 2021 MINI Sidewalk Edition
The 2021 MINI Sidewalk Edition is based on its predecessor, the Cooper S convertible. The sport performer comes in Deep Laguna Metallic or Enigmatic Black Metallic. Both exterior colors come with a sleek, sports-gray, Chevron-patterned soft top. On the interior, you’ll find the dark-gray leather upholstery with a bold lime-green stripe down the center of each of the seats. Unique accents to the side scuttles and brushed aluminum door sills mark this as the Sidewalk Edition.
The interior is just as eye-catching, with Sidewalk-customized touches such as a sport steering wheel, floor mats, and special Sidewalk illumination.
The 2021 MINI Sidewalk Edition gives a nod to the previous Sidewalk Edition convertible of 2007 by sporting the same Sidewalk logo across both its interior and exterior. These logos can be seen on the door jamb protection plates and the leather-wrapped steering wheel.
This new MINI has a twinPower Turbo 4-cyliner engine delivering 189 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque, bringing it from 0 – 60 mph in an impressive 6.7 seconds.
Is all this sounding impressive? We thought so. That leads us to the next point – how much is the 2021 MINI Sidewalk Edition? Well, pricing starts at $39,250 in the United States. The Sidewalk Edition models come with a six-speed manual transmission as standard, but a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is available for an extra $1,500.
