Sneaky car paparazzi have managed to snap some photos of the new and upcoming 2016 MINI Cooper S Clubman. Lucky for the rest of us, MINI likes to test out their cars at places such as the Nürburgring. That way they can see how the engine performs as well as a myriad of other elements from design to handling. Meanwhile, we get to see early photos of it.
The downside to these photos is that MINI, like many other luxury car makers, doesn’t like to share its secrets before the official reveal. Thus much of the car is still covered in swirling camo. This makes it difficult to make out proper details, but the experts who do a bit of camo-car deconstructing for a living were able to discern a few things.
Compared to the MINI Cooper Hardttop, the front bumper design of the MINI Cooper S Clubman seems to be different. There are two air intakes as well as two breathers next to the fog lights. The chrome lining around the grille is slightly different, and at the back there are two tailpipes which help give an indication of what might be hiding under the hood. Current guesses include a B48 2-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine which can provide 216 lb-ft of torque and 192 HP.
The remaining question is in regards to the interior. Will it change? Or will it be more like something we’re familiar with? Only time will tell. While you can’t get the new MINI Cooper S Clubman for sale yet, you can still get a MINI of your own at the right West Palm Beach MINI dealer. You can even ask them their thoughts about the upcoming MINI Cooper S Clubman. More than likely they’ll be just as excited about it as you are.
